Statement-of-Faith

The Scriptures

We believe the Bible is the Word of God: it is inspired by the Holy Spirit of God and is without error in the original writings. We believe the Bible to be our Divine and Final Authority and it will remain our Perfect Guide for all matters that pertain to life and godliness. We believe there are no other writings that have been similarly inspired by God. 2 Timothy 3:16-17; Joshua 1:8; Psalm 19:7-11; 2 Peter 1:3,20-21

Sin, the Grace of God and the Work of Faith

We believe that sin has separated man from God and that Christ Jesus is the only Way for man to be reconciled to God. We believe that Salvation through Christ Jesus, is God’s Gift to mankind and that this precious Gift, can only be affected by the Grace of God through Faith in Christ Jesus alone. We believe that this precious Faith will always produce works that are pleasing to God: we are fruitful on the outside because God has given us His Peace and Rest on the inside. We serve out of this and such are the works of Faith: a Spirit-directed activity that flows out of God’s Peace and Rest. Romans 3:23-24; Titus 3:4-8; Ephesians 2:1-8; Romans 5; James 2:14-25

Jesus and the Cross of Calvary

We believe that Christ Jesus is fully God and fully man. We believe He is God’s only Son, conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of a virgin. We believe that Jesus led a sinless Life, took all of man’s sin upon Himself at the Cross of Calvary, died and then rose again. We believe that Jesus is now seated at the right-hand of God the Father in Heaven and He is there today as our Intercessor, Advocate, High Priest and Mediator of this New Covenant of Grace. We believe that the precious Blood of Christ and His atoning Work at Calvary, has justified the Believer in God’s Sight and it has made such a one, the Righteousness of God in-Christ. We believe that Jesus is coming back for His Church, just as He said He would. 1 John 5:11-13; 1 John 5:20; Luke 1:35; Matthew 1:20; 1 Peter 1:18-20; Romans 4:23-5:2; Ephesians 2:8-10; Hebrews 4:14 through Hebrews 5:10; 2 Corinthians 5:21; Romans 4:25; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18

God’s Holy Spirit

We believe that the Holy Spirit presently indwells the Believer and that His Ministry is to glorify our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, in the life of the Believer and in the world. We believe the Holy Spirit will enable Believers to live godly lives, by and through the Grace of God. We believe the Holy Spirit is our Comforter and He will lead and guide us in all matters that pertain to life and godliness. We believe the Holy Spirit will endow the Believer with Spiritual Gifts and empower them to yield the Fruit of the Spirit. We believe in the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, the initial evidence of which is the speaking of another tongue or of a Heavenly Language. Ephesians 1:13-14; John 14:15- 26; John 16:5-16; Romans 8:1-11; Galatians 5:16-26; Acts 2:1-26; Acts 10:44-48; Acts 11:11-18; Acts 19:6; 1 Corinthians 12:1-11; 2 Peter 1:3; Titus 2: 11-15

Eternal Life and Eternal Security

We believe that eternal life is the result of Salvation through Christ Jesus alone: for those who have placed their Faith in the atoning Work of Christ at the Cross of Calvary. We believe that because Salvation is a Gift maintained by the Grace and Power of God, and not through self-effort, the Believer is secure in such Salvation for all eternity. We believe that the consequence of rejecting the Gospel and refusing Christ as Lord and Savior is eternal separation from God and ultimate condemnation in hell. John 10:28-29; Hebrews 7:25; Hebrews 10:10 & 14; 1 Peter 1:3-5; Matthew 25:31-46; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18

Marriage

We believe that sexual intimacy is to be expressed only within the confines of marriage. We believe that God had always instituted and purposed for marriage to be exclusively the union of one man and one woman: this is the foundation of the family and upon which society as a whole is built. Genesis 2:24; Matthew 19:5-6; Mark 10:6-9; Romans 1:26-27; 1 Corinthians 6:9

Church Unity

We believe in the spiritual unity of all Believers in Christ Jesus and that all born-again Christians are Members of the Body of Christ. 1 Corinthians 12:12 & 27; Ephesians 1: 22-23

Evangelism, Water Baptism and Communion

We believe that the Believer, who is the Church, is commissioned to be a witness for Christ and is called to preach and proclaim the Good News of Jesus’ Finished Work at the Cross of Calvary. We believe that Baptism by water is the Believer’s public demonstration of his or her identification with Christ’s Death, Burial and Resurrection. We believe that the Holy Communion is our celebration of Jesus’ Victory in both His Life and His Death: it is our Celebration of everything that Christ accomplished for us at the Cross of Calvary. Acts 1:8; Matthew 28:18-20; Matthew 28:16-20; Acts 10:44-48; Acts 2:36-41; Luke 22:14-20; 1 Corinthians 11:17-34;
